Panoramic scenery: Landscape of Telemachus on the island of Calypso
Inspired by the work of Fénelon, this magnificent decoration of an Antique landscape was published in 1818 by the famous Joseph Dufour Manufacture,
It depicts scenes from the story of Odysseus' son, Telemachus, stranded during a storm on the island of the Nymph "Calypso".
The panoramic Landscape of Télémaque, inspired by the eponymous novel by Fénélon, was published in 1818 by the Dufour factory based on a drawing by Xavier Mader. The original decoration made up of 24 strips required the creation of 2027 plates engraved in relief. The paper used was made from old rags. From 1864, this panoramic will be re-edited by the Manufacture Desfossés et Karth. Landscape paintings", panoramic wallpapers, of which Joseph Dufour was one of the most prestigious creators, were a form of wall decoration, specifically French, in keeping with the taste of the 19th century, for the outdoors and the picturesque. Available in 3 atmospheres : original colors , rising sun ( revisited version of this magnificent decor with variations of pale yellow, pink and blue, evoking the softness of the first light of the day) and summer evening ( Version with orange and bluish variations evoking the delicate colors of summer evenings).
- Printed on 165 g/M2 non-woven paper (light-resistant) and sold in strips
- 96 cm wide for a height of: 1M80 or 2M70 or custom-made (see custom format tab ) .
- Installed edge to edge.
For a height of 1M80, this decor is made up of 8 strips of 96 cm wide for a total width of 7M68. Minimum purchase: 1 strip.
For a height of 2M70, this decor is made up of 12 strips of 96 cm wide for a total width of 11M52. Minimum purchase: 1 strip.
Important information
It is recommended to avoid ordering different strips of the same decor several weeks apart, knowing that slight color differences may appear from one print to another.
