Collaboration with Clarissa Valaeys

An Artistic Encounter

The collaboration between Paradisio Imaginarium and Clarissa Valaeys was born from a shared sensibility: a love for immersive landscapes, exuberant nature, and decorative worlds that invite the imagination to travel.

A Brazilian-born artist based in Switzerland, Clarissa Valaeys draws inspiration from the tropical landscapes of her childhood and from the extraordinary richness of Brazilian flora and fauna. Her universe, both delicate and abundant, immediately resonated with that of Paradisio Imaginarium.

From this artistic encounter was born Bahia, an exclusive panoramic design celebrating the beauty of a lush and timeless natural world.

The Birth of the Project

The Bahia design was first imagined from our desire to create a vast tropical panorama, faithful to the spirit of Paradisio Imaginarium.

Before beginning the illustration process, we envisioned the décor through the creation of a moodboard defining the main elements of the composition: the desired atmosphere, the selection of plants, birds, and animals, as well as the arrangement of foreground and background elements to create a balanced, immersive landscape rich in depth and perspective.

A Shared Vision

From our very first conversations, we shared the same ambition: to create a décor that would be more than a simple representation of a tropical landscape, but a true invitation to travel.

We wanted to imagine a panorama capable of immersing the viewer in a generous natural world, inhabited by birds, animals, and abundant vegetation, where every detail contributes to a peaceful, poetic, and immersive atmosphere.

From Concept to Drawing

The Bahia décor was entirely hand-drawn and painted by Clarissa Valaeys.

Inspired by her memories of Bahia, her observations of local flora and fauna, and extensive research, she composed an imaginary landscape of remarkable botanical richness, where every plant and animal naturally finds its place.

Conceived as a unique work of art, the design was created in its entirety before being carefully digitised to preserve the delicacy and spontaneity of the artist’s hand.

The Paradisio Imaginarium Perspective

As with each of our creations, our contribution is above all centred around the work of colour.

In collaboration with Clarissa Valaeys, we developed the colour harmonies of the décor in order to reveal the depth of the landscape and create different interpretations of the artwork.

This research gave rise to a grisaille version enhanced with touches of colour, a signature approach of Paradisio Imaginarium, as well as a fully coloured version in which light and nuances express the extraordinary richness of tropical vegetation.

An Immersive Décor

Designed as a true decorative fresco, Bahia unfolds across the entire height of the wall, creating a complete visual immersion.

Available in several colour variations and made to measure, this panorama is designed to transform each interior into a window opening onto an imaginary landscape, where nature, colour, and light inspire a sense of escape.

This first collaboration marks the beginning of an artistic dialogue that Paradisio Imaginarium wishes to continue by developing new collections with illustrators who share the same dedication to drawing, colour, and poetry.
