Partnership between Paradisio Imaginarium & the Musée de la Toile de Jouy

An Inspiring Encounter

Our partnership with the Musée de la Toile de Jouy was born from a visit that left a lasting impression on our imagination. As we explored the galleries and archives, we discovered antique textiles, rare samples, and drawings of extraordinary richness. Far beyond the famous pastoral scenes traditionally associated with Toile de Jouy, we were captivated by more discreet patterns, witnesses to the refinement of eighteenth-century decorative arts.

This discovery immediately resonated with the world of Paradisio Imaginarium: a decorative heritage to be reinterpreted with sensitivity and poetry.

The Search for Patterns

We wished to turn our attention towards more unexpected designs, selecting compositions whose aesthetic qualities and history naturally engage with the identity of our house.

Our choice therefore focused on creations that move away from the pastoral scenes traditionally associated with Toile de Jouy, revealing another facet of this exceptional heritage—more ornamental, more botanical, and more timeless.

Patterns That Reflect Our World

Our selection celebrates botanical compositions, flowers, exotic fruits, and birds—subjects that played an essential role in eighteenth-century decorative arts and that are also at the heart of the Paradisio Imaginarium universe.

During this period, the arrival of new plant species and fruits from around the world inspired textile creation. These designs reflect a fascination with travel, exceptional gardens, and botanical discoveries, while expressing a refined appreciation for ornamentation.

The birds that feature so prominently in our collections naturally find their place within these elegant compositions, where they interact with lush vegetation and abundant flowering plants.

A Work of Colour

The selected designs come from the collections of the Musée de la Toile de Jouy and are reproduced in their original compositions.

The contribution of Paradisio Imaginarium lies in the exploration of colour. Each pattern undergoes in-depth colour research in order to offer a renewed interpretation, in harmony with our decorative sensibility and contemporary interiors.

Adapted into wallpapers and decorative objects, these historic designs are given a new presence while preserving the integrity and delicacy of their original compositions.
