"The Queen's Garden" Wallpaper – Toile de Jouy Collection

nspired by a late eighteenth-century décor preserved in the collections of the Musée de la Toile de Jouy, this wallpaper celebrates the pineapple, a symbol of luxury, exoticism and refinement. Introduced to France during the eighteenth century, this rare fruit fascinated collectors and inspired numerous decorative creations. According to tradition, Marie Antoinette chose this motif to adorn her private apartments at Versailles.

Produced by the Jouy Manufactory between 1783 and 1789 under the direction of Christophe-Philippe Oberkampf, the design enjoyed great success and became part of the refined decorative language of Europe's great royal courts.

Printed on a 165 g/m² matte non-woven wallpaper, this historic décor is available in two colourways: the original colour version and a delicate Porcelain Blue & Powder Pink interpretation.
